On August 26, 2026 the U.S. Department of State designated Autistici/Inventati (A/I Collective) as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under Executive Order 13224. The State Department said the Italy-based collective provided encrypted email, web hosting and other digital infrastructure used by violent far-left extremist groups to organise, recruit and disseminate tactical material.
The designation blocks property subject to U.S. jurisdiction and generally prohibits transactions by U.S. persons, while warning of civil, criminal and secondary sanctions risks. In the days after the listing A/I’s .org domain was placed on serverHold, its Italian bank account was suspended, and the collective announced it would shut down services affecting thousands of mailboxes and sites.
